Description:
The quince is a small tree of the rose family. Its fruit is similar to the apple and pear. The quince fruit greatly resembles a hard-fleshed yellow apple. The uncooked quince fruit can be quite astringent therefore it is used mainly in preserves. Legend says that the quince was the first fruit used to make marmalade.
