Grate carrot and blanch. Cover the bottom of a stewing pan with carrot, salt lightly, add water and top with beef slices. Stew for an hour. Add 1 teaspoon sugar to mayonnaise and pour over the beef. 10 minutes after sprinkle with grated cheese. Serve with baked potatoes and vegetable salads.
