 Beef Shashlyk

 Description
Shashlyk originates from the Caucasus. This wonderful dish has become a must of every picnic and an outside party.
 Method
Cut meat into large cubes 5x3x2 cm. Peel onion and dice it finely. In a ceramic bowl, combine meat, onion and pepper. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Leave in a cold place for 3-4 hours. Prepare wooden sticks and thread meat. Sprinkle with flour and fry in a large pan with heated oil. Cook until light brown, but inside is pink.. Serve hot at once.

  • 4 ea onion.
  • 1 1/2 kg beef chuck.
  • 1 ts flour.
  • 100 g melted butter.
  • 100 g scallions.
  • vinegar and salt to taste.
  • black pepper ground.

     not really..
     this is not really shashlik, the real recipe requires a marinade..and etc. and it is not made in a frying pan..

     I agree...
     I agree with s. tashkenta. While I was traveling in Russia a Russian friend took us on a picnic and cook Shashlyk, It was pork that was marinated in, what I think was, vinager, oil, onion and tomato. I think that is what the marinade was. He then cooked it over an open fire BBQ. It was great!

     I come from Uzbekistan where shshlyk was first made and I think that the recipe was supposed to have a special marinade and be cooked on an open fire.This recipe is fine but if youwant the best use an open fire bbq.
