 Pirozhki With Cabbage

 Description
Pirozhki are considered the best meal in Russia - appetizer, main course, dessert- for any occasion.
 Method
Combine ingredients for dough. Knead the dough very well, add more flour if needed. Shape a ball and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.
Make a filling. Chop eggs finely. Shred cabbage and fry with salt in oil until pale. Combine cabbage with eggs. Divide the dough into 3 parts, roll out every part and roll up, the roll out again – repeat this procedure 3-4 times. Roll out the dough 4-5 mm thick and make rounds with a glass or a cup. Put the filling in the center of every round and pinch the edges. Brush with a beaten egg and bake in a heated oven 200 C until light golden. These Pirozhki are great with broth and tea.

 Ingredients
  • 200 g margarine.
  • 10 tb flour.
  • 200 g sour cream.
  • 1 ea cabbage head.
  • 3 ea eggs, hard-boiled.
  • salt.

     can this be cooked stovetop without an OVEN?
     hi from Spain! i tasted my first in San Francisco many years ago and wanted to try this at home. but i do NOT have an oven. has anyone tried cooking this for cooking in a microwave or on the stove top, and how? thanks a lot!

     Yes, you can make it on stove top. Just fry them in oil until golden brown turning them over.
