 Herring Forshmak

 Description
A delicious famous Jewish appetizer. The name of this dish came from German, Vorshmak means "foretaste".
 Method
Soak herring for 10-12 hours, changing water regularly. Fry onion slices in butter until light brown. Chop herring, add all ingredients, except breadcrumbs, to it and stir in carefully. Grease a pan with butter, put the mass and sprinkle with butter and breadcrumbs. Bake in the average heated oven for 20-25 minutes.

 Ingredients
  • 4 ea herring fillets.
  • 4 tb butter.
  • 2 ea onion sliced.
  • 4 ea white bread slices.
  • 1 ea apple peeled and cubed.
  • 1 tb sour cream.
  • 2 tb breadcrumbs.
