 Oladi (Russian Pancakes)
Source: Olga, RussianFoods.com Editor   Mail to: cuisine@russianfoods.com
 Description
Our preserves have no artificial flavors for that all natural sweet taste. You can use our preserves for your peanut butter sandwich, but why not try something new and put our preserves on a delicious batch of Russian pancakes - Oladi.
 Method
Mix yeast with warm milk, add flour and blend until smooth. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place (for about 2 hours). Mix eggs, salt and sugar and 1 tablespoon oil into the dough and allow to rise again (for about 1/2 hour). Without mixing dough again, use a wet spoon to spoon out portions of dough onto a greased hot griddle. Cook on both sides until golden brown. Serve immediately with our preserves, honey or farmers cheese sprinkled with sugar.

 Ingredients
  • 1 pound (about 4 cups) all purpose flour.
  • 2 cups warm milk.
  • 2 eggs.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar.
  • 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 25g yeast (about .8 ounces).
